New ACU Events Ltd Hare & Hounds XC Series
Rideoffroaduk and ACU Events Ltd have agreed to form a new introductory Hare & Hounds XC Series to run over 3 events in 2010 aimed at grass routes Enduro XC riders.
The new XC series has been formed after months of negotiation between ACU Trials and Enduro Chairman John Collins, ACU Events Ltd Frank Carter, and rideoffroaduk event director Wayne Braybrook.
Having identified the need for a specific series aimed at the lower ability riders, we have decided to run classes for Sportsman/Hobby, Over40, Over50, Ladies and Clubman only. With many high profile organisers targeting the Pro / Expert class riders we feel that the most heavily populated classes at most Hare & Hounds events deserve their own official XC series.
The events will be tailored towards straight forward, safe enjoyable tracks to compete on. This has always been Braybrook’s aim to provide for the masses who ride off road events for enjoyment and fun.
The Series starts at the nostalgic Norwood Teversal venue in Nottinghamshire on April 11th, Norwood was the place where televised scrambles took place back in the 60’s and is littered with history. Round 2 takes place on July 18th at the stunning Lee Dell near Rochdale which offers acres of open going in a hidden valley strewn with old mill ruins. The final round will take place on September 19th at a new venue in Lincolnshire.

Injury Puts Braybrook out of 2010 Tough One Line Up.
It is with great regret that Wayne Braybrook will unfortunately have to miss this years Tough One Extreme race. This is due to a shoulder injury sustained at round one of the WOR series. The shoulder is ok for general riding but for the extra stress of pushing, lifting, and man handling of the bike for the 4 times podium regular is out of the question.
Its a great shame for Braybrook who prides himself on getting in amongst the Factory full time riders and causing them to sweat a bit. Having holeshot the race for the past 3 years the 2007 Hells Gate Winner always enjoyed this "home round" extreme race, Braybrook will return to Extreme Enduro races as soon as the offending injury subsides.
Ahead of the re scheduled Winter Warmer race at Thoresway Motoparc Caistor on Feb 7th, RideoffroadUK are pleased to announce a new commercial partner.
Belray Lubricants are to support the 2010 rideoffroaduk Hare & Hounds Championship in a bid to bring back the Belray product range to off road riders in the North of England.
As well as product support in the way of product prizes at each race, the whole Belray range will be distributed by Braybrook Offroad Ltd in the North of England. It will be available to buy at all rideoffroaduk events, with the main aim to prove to end users just how much research goes into the blending of this well know yet little seen brand.
With the latest Belray Thumper 4 stroke and Si7 two stroke oil proving that good quality oil really can extend the life of engine components, event director Wayne Braybrook is happy to move into the future with such a well established top quality brand.
Wayne said “It’s a deal we have been working on for some time now, our long term relationships with existing partners all started in similar ways to the Belray tie up”, most of whom have been Braybrook’s personal sponsors for some time.
Belray will be Wayne’s personal oil sponsor and they will be supporting new rideoffroaduk team members Tom Healey and Lee Sampson. The latter two riders will run under the wing of Braybrook’s vast off road experience, they will spend time with Wayne training as well as contesting various Championships in 2010. Belray are the second new high profile commercial partner to join forces with rideoffroaduk for the coming season along with Dunlop Tyres.

It is understandable that a few people may think that after fifteen rounds of any series, it is just same-old same-old but last Sundays WOR Premiership event at Wern Ddu quarry near Corwen, North Wales, was far from same-old as riders and spectators were treated to two new bikes making their UK debut and taking the top two spots.
Wayne Braybrook’s first competitive enduro outing since the opening round of the GBXC series back in March, saw the near 40-year old take a decisive victory aboard the new the Sherco SE 3.0i-f. The bike lived up to its looks as Braybrook, as smooth as ever, revelled in the tight and technical bits of the Wern Ddu
The outing was only meant as a tester for the Tough One but the bog-standard Sherco really performed and another podium finish at Nantmawr on January 23rd already looks on the cards for Wayne Braybrook.

rideoffroaduk event director Wayne Braybrook Grabs podium place at the 2009 WOR Tough One Extreme Enduro.

Wayne Braybrook once again showed his world class ability to deal with the UK's only extreme enduro by finishing the WOR event in third place. Much to the delight of the rideoffroaduk crew who made the journey to North Wales to watch him show his ability and desire to succeed are still alive and kicking when it comes to his favorite extreme event. Having a busy schedule for the 2009 season with our own events calendar testing and training had been limited this year, for the 3rd year in a row the 38 year old Braybrook showed the young guns a clean pair of heels on the run up the hill to the bikes and once again grabbed the holeshot on his EC300 Gas Gas. After a trouble free 2 hour epic event Wayne was over the moon to once again stand on the Tough One podium.
